Eddy Fuentes was born and raised in Miami, Florida. The son of Cuban immigrants who fled Fidel Castro's communist regime, Eddy learned the importance of an education, hard work, and the value of living in a nation that affords its people the opportunity to achieve any goal.
Upon high school graduation in Miami, Eddy attended Central College in Pella, Iowa where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Communications, Sociology, and Spanish. Eddy lettered four years in intercollegiate baseball while at Central. Eddy also participated in Central's Study Abroad Program with the Sociology Department (Mérida, Yucatan, Mexico).
Eddy is fluent in Spanish and has a combined 25 years of experience in the areas of mental health and federal law enforcement.
